This Christmas I have been introduced to a new children's store that I am in love with. Being new to the children's scene, I'm finding lots of cute things as I go, but this store is my new obsession! Libby's grandmother and aunt hooked her up with some of the most adorable outfits from Janie and Jack. If you don't know about it ('cause you live in a small town like me) make a point to visit their website or go to their store when you're in a big town - like Birmingham or Atlanta. But beware, you will want to buy everything! Here are a few cute pieces that Libby will be sporting this season:
Grey Cardigan & Red Shoes
Plaid Pea Coat
Bows to match
Dress/cardigan/tights set:
What adorable clothes! I hope this store makes it through the recession. I hope to shop here as Libby grows.

We survived Libby's first Christmas! What a big day it was. The festivities began Christmas Eve and continued 'til after 9 pm Christmas Day night. We had a great time, Libby got sooo many nice gifts and she loved all the wrapping paper!
This one of my favorite pictures of Libby from Christmas Day and there were lots! If you know our family, then you probably know that her dad, granddad and late great grandfather have spent most of their careers selling John Deere equipment. So we were excited when Libby got to open her very first (of many, I'm sure) John Deere toys. I love the look on her face. She's going to love riding and playing on her toy!

This weekend I was able to meet up some friends from high school. Amanda Dorman Groce, Courtney Cooper, Kerri Windham Kirkland, Meredith Riley Stewart and I coordinated our holiday schedules Saturday afternoon. It's rare to all be in Phenix City at the same time - Amanda lives in Birmingham and Meredith in Philadelphia. 3 of the 5 of us have children, so we wanted them to meet and play as well. It was so much fun to see everyone and let our babies hang out. I'm so proud of what each person has gone on to accomplish in her life, what a great group of ladies! It was fun to see everyone.

Meredith practicing her mothering skills. This picture makes me laugh - Meredith sent this pic to her husband, Bert, to try to make him nervous. He probably thought she was trying to drop a hint about starting a family!

Michelle Duggar has given birth to a little girl, Jordyn-Grace Makiya Duggar, weighing 7 pounds, 3 ounces and 20 inches long. If you're keeping count, that's baby #18!
Congrats to the Duggars, they are such an awesome and interesting family! I'll be watching TLC for the latest episodes.

Christmas is just a few days away and I'm getting excited! I've attempted to scratch off all the names on my list, decorated the house, sorted and wrapped presents and I've already begun to eat my weight in delicious food by way of Christmas parties and brunches. During all of the hub-bub Drew has asked me more than once, "So what do you want for Christmas?" You really want to know? Okay, here's goes:
1. An entire day to shop with a few fashionable friends to say "Yes" or "No".
2. A few thousand dollars to blow while shopping.
3. Sleep! (8 months worth of lost sleep)
4. My house to be clean, year 'round
5. A walk in closet
6. A bigger bathroom
7. An unlimited gift card to Chic-fil-a.
8. Libby to say, "Ma ma"
9. A trip to the beach
10. A great body and tan to go along with that beach trip.
Feel free to run with these ideas for Christmas presents. I promise I'll act suprised! :)

This Christmas is Libby's first, so I have been working extra hard to decorate around our house. We put our tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving so we could enjoy it all month. So far Libby and our cat, Riley, have been on their best behavior, although I do occasionally find the cat hiding under the tree like he is a cougar and he drinks water from the tree stand. The tree is still upright and that makes me happy.
This picture is a little dark, but you get the idea. You can see Libby's silhouette at the bottom of the tree. She loves to sit and check out the lights.
The stockings are a new edition. I ordered them from Pottery Barn and Mercer did a great job on the embroidery. I really like them!
Since we don't have a fire place, I had to create a spot for them. Here's my make shift mantle. My next house will have a fireplace (add that to a long list of things I want). What? Doesn't everyone hang their stockings from a side table?
Libby doing her favorite thing - jamming anything she can get her hands on into her mouth. Yeah, yeah, I took it away from her, but she loves playing with ornaments!

Every year our friends Beth and Gabe Hedges host a Christmas party at their home. The party was this weekend and we enjoyed too much lots of good food and fellowshipping with friends.
Every year after eating and hanging around, we play a rousing game of Dirty Santa. Some years we go home with something good, some years, not so much! This is what I ended up with this year. {Not the TV, a DVD of a crackling fire. Not bad compared to what some people got.}
Drew had a variety of presents through out the night, including this dog, I won't get too detailed, but he was battery-operated and he does his doggy 'business' when you press his ear. Can you believe someone actually stole this from Drew? The dog shows up at the Hedges' party every year!
Cassidy was a good sport, she ended up with this very large Noah's Ark cookie jar. Did you know Santa was on the ark with the animals? (front, center) Me either.
Check out these stinkers! April ended up with 2 movie tickets (one of the hot items of the night) and Cody actually wanted these pink, furry slippers. To be fair, he was being a good daddy and got them for his little girl! The Flournoys came out well this year, a lot better than the ceramic boot they scored last year!
Group shot of the girls
And thank goodness, Sheryl did not go into labor during the party!
What a cute preggo!

Miss Libby has cruised through another month. She's getting very good at pulling up, standing with assistance, bouncing up and down and making lots of noise! She's looking forward to Christmas - she knows she's on Santa's 'Good' list!
Happy 8th Month, Libby!

My friend Mandy made a trip from Gulf Shores this weekend for a shower in her honor. Her son, Eli, is due early February and we can't wait to meet him! Here we are celebrating with her this past weekend. Hang in there, Mandy, just a few more weeks!

Step 1: Visit your favorite Christmas Tree Farm.
Step 2: Examine each limb to ensure proper texture.
Step 3: Taste the sprig to ensure quality.
Step 4: Park yourself by your tree so no one else can claim it.
Step 5: Consult The Man Upstairs to make sure this is the tree.
Step 6: Cut the tree down, haul it home and have a Merry Christmas!!

My longtime friend, Emily Askew, got married last weekend. She and her husband Scott were very happy to finally tie the knot. She was beautiful and the wedding was just as lovely. Beautiful Bride!
They had a great band at the reception and don't doubt that Coop and I hit the dance floor! I had to post a picture of the groom's cake. Emily and Scott have a yellow lab, Dooley, that they treat like their child, so he was the inspiration for the cake. At first I felt weird about eating man's best friend, but his innards were chocolate and tasty! Congrats Emily!

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving holiday. We stayed busy and Libby met lots of family members she didn't even know she had. Thursday we traveled to Ft. Valley, GA for lunch and then to Marvyn, AL for dinner. (Bonus points if you've ever traveled to either city!) We ate way too much and had a good day!
