FEELS LIKE HOME TO ME: February 2013

Bunco and Bullets

We've had a busy couple of weeks. We've been dodging buckets and buckets of rain, been busy at work and chasing two girls from dawn 'til dusk. Whew!

Last weekend Drew and I hosted couples Bunco at our house. 12 couples (24 people) in our house at one time makes for a loud and lively night.

Drew and I both enjoyed our kid free night. I loved spending time with these hilarious friends. Some of them kept us in stitches all night long (you know who you are)!

We got a break from rain Sunday. Blue skies and spring-like weather - talk about itching with spring fever.

Drew talked Libby into taking some target practice on the farm. And to my surprise, she not only joined him, she shot the rifle! Go, Libby, go!

Drew and I took turns, too.

Libby sported ear plugs and took instructions very well. Drew and I were so proud of her. He may make a hunter and sharp shooter out of her yet.

I know I'm not alone in this monogram craze. The other day I saw monogrammed gym shorts and thought, "Okay, at least I don't put my initials on my workout gear...yet."

As the wet and cold days of February drag past, I find myself looking forward to spring. Don't get me wrong, I'm not eager to rush into the sweltering heat of summer, but something about the warm-ish temps and longer days, well that just sounds perfect after a long week of soggy weather.

Over the next few posts, I'll be sharing things I want, things I have recently purchased or items that I love.

Another week has come and gone, here's what's blog-worthy. We all enjoyed having my brother, Drew, visit for the week. His last night in town we enjoyed dinner at my parents' house. And you know I couldn't miss a chance to take pictures.

Libby really loved getting to play with Uncle Drew. She only gets to see him a few times a year, so it's great they can share time together.

Drew is now back in cold, snowy Colorado. Come south when you need to warm up, Brother!

Libby performed with the children's choir in church Sunday. She did a great job. And of course, she was cute! I grabbed these shots before leaving for church.

And lastly, I am struck at how much my two girls love each other. Before GK arrived, I assumed that with their difference in age (four years) the girls might not identify with each other. Boy was I wrong. Georgia Kate delights in Libby's company. She giggling and claps and squeals. In return she keeps Libby in stitches. Sunday night Drew called me from the other room and said, "Come look at this."
